This past year has been full of beautiful experiences, relationships, and creativity. I’m honestly so honored to have been able to build a space that welcomes all kinds of music and art. What started with a small PA and a dream has turned into something I never could’ve imagined , a whole community of people lifting each other up.
Every week, the energy, the support, the talent, it blows me away. It’s the artists who take time out of their week to rehearse, show up in the house band, help with setup and breakdown, run the projector, help with artist management, take over some of the media, and just keep this thing moving. I finally have a full volunteer staff, and let me tell you, they’ve truly taken a huge load off of me.
I couldn’t have done any of this without the amazing team of artists who care just as much as I do about their craft and this community. Because of y’all, real friendships have been made, albums have come together, bands have formed, love has sparked, and artists from out of town have gotten to share their music with folks they might not have reached otherwise.
What’s in the works
We’ve got a lot of exciting things already happening and even more in the works:
• Sounds of Nashville will be partnering with us and using our platform and vice versa, big things ahead there!
• We’re now helping artists chart their music and perform their original songs with full band support as feature artists.
• The Hyve (formerly the Mix It Up Workshop) is now an official sponsor -bringing seven artists together to write and demo a full song in just three hours, with an album coming at the end of the year.
• Creative Pulse Feature Showcases are now happening ,helping previous open mic features get on new stages and in front of new audiences.
• And yes, we’re in the early stages of planning a Jazz/Neo-Soul/R&B festival (no dates just yet, but it’s coming 👀).
None of this happens without the team:
• Gabriel Feldman – keys player and much-needed roadie
• Ansley Dougherty – our longtime singer and the one who kept the band on point (recently resigned but never forgotten)
• Monica Moment – our newest background vocalist
• Oliver Valle – singer, acoustic guitar player, and projector wizard
• Shane Bradley – electric guitar, marketing/branding help, and visual content
• Joe Hamm – drummer, Hyve founder, and web help
• Jack Zondlo – bassist and artist manager who’s helped us stay organized
And then there’s me, jack of all, master of none, just trying to keep the vision going and create a place where people feel seen, heard, and supported.
Thank you to every single person who’s come out, performed, watched, helped, or just believed in what we’re building. I love this community with my whole heart, and I can’t wait to see what we create next.
